For people that surf the net in the dark (eye strain)

Hmm useless for people like me who have hardware calibrated screens - makes a 120cd/m2 screen look well odd :p

120cd/m2 is the perfect luminance for comfortable eyes so if you can you're better off borrowing a colorometer and calibrating all your screens.

You'll find almost all screens today default to well beyond 250cd/m2 which is just way too bright and while not a health risk, it will cause fatigue and eyestrain in the dark.

Of course it will look odd but if you're not using it for accurate colour management then it may help some people in a dark environment and you can restore the calibrated setting at the click of a mouse.

Yup, as I mentioed earlier, most screens are way too bright, but then I guess why have 300cd/m2 if you don't USE IT ALL!!!:p

Installed at the start of the thread, turned screen pinky.

Turned off lights as i would normally.

Read the thread.

Turned F.lux off and I was blind!! Never realised my screen was that bright, I turned the brightness down whan i got the screen!

Ill keep it for a week or so and if it helps my sleep and i dont notice it then ill keep it.

Nice one

:D

Strange...

The colour rendition is of course poor for view photos and graphics but it does ease eye strain.. probably due to the fact that by rasing the colour temperature the harsh cool colours are no longer there.

Undecided at the moment.. I would rather turn down the monitors contrast.

But will give this a go for a couple of days.

Wow I like this a lot, good find! I've just installed it myself and the initial colour change shocked me but it did make my eyes feel more relaxed if that makes any sense?

This. Definitely. As soon as I installed it and the colour temp changed, I felt something really nice happen :)

NEC 24WMGX3 here.

Great, I did look for a program like this a little while back, it's a pain having to change the brightness settings on my monitors and it's so much easier just to have some software do it automatically.

Thanks OP :)
