As per topic. Im trying to get some information to make some decisions. If you could go through the Questions and answer them as per your setup i would be grateful.

Q1: ISP and Connection?

Q2: Router Make and Model?

Q3: Do You use a Software Firewall? If yes, which one?

Q4: On the Router, do you use "Static IP" or "Auto DHCP" setting?

Q5: Which Software do you use to Stream or Send Files to PS3?

Q6: Do you use FlashFXP or any other ftp software which requires "port forwarding on the router"? If yes, what settings do you use?

It should just connect immediately to the wireless network, it auto detects everything. I didn't do anything except go to "network connection" and select "connect to wireless" or the similar option. Anyway:

1. ADSL24 8MB Down 512k Up

2. Dlink

3. No

4. Auto DCHP

5. Windows Media Player

6. No

Q1: Be* 8Mb upload probably 512k or 1Mb (ADSL2)

Q2: BeBox - well thats the SSID, aint sure what it actually is just has BeBox on it lol.

Q3: No

Q4: DHCP

Q5: Windows Media Player

Q6: No

Havent set up any port forwarding, DMZ, etc. just seems to work. :)

When I did have it hooked up via wireless...

Q1: I'd rather not name my ISP, 2MB Fixed ADSL.

Q2: Linksys, I'd also rather not name the model either.

Q3: No. I don't get how you could use a software firewall on a PS3... I don't get this. Unless you install Linux...

Q4: Static IP setup.

Q5: MedaLink on one machine, Winamp Remote on another.

Q6: No, but the ports that should be setup for the PS3, unless you/your router supports UPnP/enabled... are: TCP 80, 443, 5223 / UDP 3478, 3479, 3658 for NAT2.

Dabble with torrents now and then just forward the ports

Strangely though I have my ps3 set to static ip and it does not show up in my router logs as even being connected.
