Hi all,

Few new pictures of the Escort that I picked up the other month, got a few on-going problems though

One is a rumble over 10mph going in a straight line, doesn't do it when turning, on full lock etc, any ideas?

another is the Exhaust sounds like it loose or something, can hear it over every bump, guess it is just a rubber mount? Hope that it is as simple as that, the MOT is due in November.

Everything about the car seems sound- 3 spots of surface rust on the rear arches that I will be sorting out before MOT time and a few car park dings, oh and someone hit the rear bumper when it was parked (they was moving house and now I can't find them, only a little bit of paint left though)

The car looks like it is scratched on the front, it isn't its just the council when they cut the grass left it like that

what kind of rumble do you mean? could be a dry CV joint, check for perished rubbers. or could be warped discs or even flat spotted tyres.

could be anything tbh... need more info.

A constant rumble, sounds worse in the back of the car, had 2 new front tyres that didn't solve it, disks look fine and it stops as good as it should, not too sure what else you would need to know? :(

Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing man

That's what I thought,

To check that do you have to jack it up and "rock" the wheels to find the culprit? Does anyone know where the best place is (on line or in person) to get the part if it does need it?

grab wheel by top and bottom and rock. should be no movement. i tend to check mine by leaving it on the ground though and pushing the top of the tyre with a big initial push and you can 'feel' or even hear a click if theres any play.

Thanks, I am not going to have chance to sort it until next weekend though :(

Any ideas of online part shops? I cant remember any :(

True, only have a Halfords near where the car is, and there only is Motorworld and Halfords that I know about in Leicester?
