Open Mind? That makes no sense whatsoever. That's like seeing a riot and saying 'I'm keeping an open mind'.

Actually scratch that, a riot is usually due to the masses not being listened to and therefore having a cause (which may require an open mind as it were). This had no cause other than profiteering.

I have read about it in other forums - the article is trying to say foreigners brought the ps3 and people are doing all sort of shady activites etc hence why i said am keeping an open mind as we dont really not yet for sure..

Profiteering is huge, this was pretty much what was expected.
I am shocked an appalled at what was happening at the stores, but that is the stores fault for bad management and nothing else.

Very interesting read. Like the guy said, this isnt about profiteering, this is about Japanese mismanagement of big events. Perhaps too used to their notorious good natured demeanor that they forget that bad things can happen when you make people queue. Lest we forget that some 50 years ago you could see a group of youths on a uk street and as for help, now IF you see a group of youths on a uk street it is more apt that you CRY for help. Things change.

One of the best written articles in ages.

It wasn't anti-foreigners, just saying what happened. The fact that they interviewed the first person to buy one on stage and he didn't speak any Japanese was almost car crash telly.

Maybe we are lucky in Europe NOT to have the PS3 launching here this year!

Why are we surprised?

80,000 consoles at launch in 120 millions population country is way, way too low! It's at least 10 times less than PS2 launch with 900,000!

With such a low number of consoles at launch, things like this bounds to happen!
