Modified for personal taste. I normally go to the pub for this reason every couple of weeks or so.
I didn't like the last bit as it sounded quite snobbish, but yes, I copied it.

Ate on my own tonight as it happens, i'm in the US on business.
Book, few bottles of Sam Adams, bit of food back back to my room to do some work and then some browsing....like others i eat in places in want to eat and don't give a toss about being on my own.
