Forget 34UM95, here's 34UC97! (CURVED 34")

If I sit in darkness & pause on a black screen from a video then I did have a good chunk of orange glow in the top & bottom right. Adjusted the brightness & stuff in normal lighting conditions & checked again. General use under normal lighting I never notice it. If I go looking for it then yes its there A little in a dark room but not as bad as out of the box. If your a perfectionist I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with mine compared to the black level uniformity of a plasma. I don't think I would have even noticed it though had I not seen people going on about it here to be honest. Not something I would class as a fault.

I've also installed the bundled screen splitting software, looked good to me!

Did a remote desktop into my ancient pc at work I have to use & it used the giant native res no problem. I guess technically the gfx hardware isn't actually putting out an image as such in that scenario so it works. Will really improve my productivity when working from home. Can fit so many putty sessions, monitoring tools & reference material on screen at the same time!

What do you think DP 1.2 mode actually does? Mine seems very happy doing 60Hz 3440x1440 without that enabled and if I do enable it I get weird horizontal noise lines on the screen, like static, when the PC comes out of sleep. I have to turn the monitor on and off to get rid of them. It is possibly an Nvidia driver issue, but right now I cannot see the point of enabling DP1.2, as all seems perfect with it off.
OK, so I ran the numbers on this myself and it seems (please correct me if I am wrong!) that DP1.2 is only needed at this resolution if you want 10-bit color and as (as far as I am aware) NVidia do not support 10-bit on their regular GPUs that would appear to make 1.2 completely unnecessary. Is this right?

Has anyone tried running this at a custom resolution above 60Hz? Be interested to know the max likely refresh rate that can be achieved.

Has anyone tried running Assassins Creed Black Flag at native res? Mine appears as a letterbox with two big black bars above & below the image.

We are trying, LG response was we will send you some brackets for these to sell......

Still trying!

15 left now!!!

Thanks for the info gibbo, just waiting on the suggest a new product thread wasnt getting any replies, im just still on the fence with the 34uc97, i havnt seen enough reviews or videos to convince me to look past the negatives of the monitor, reviews and videos seem to be coming out incredibly slowly for this monitor.
The 34uc87 solves a few issues, no one has really shown what gaming on it is really like and how bleeding affects the monitor for long term use.

Any of you guys at OcUK crazy enough to put 3 of these together and gave it a try like in the product image? :D

I am looking at 3 monitors for Eyefinity/Flight Simming, this monitor being the centre display. Unfortunately I cannot afford three so I am looking buying two Samsung 27" (S27D590C) curved to sit either side of this.

Im not too sure how it will work though in terms of matched curve etc. I'm sitting patiently for the Samsungs to come into stock.

To compliment the above screen setup I have a completely unopened 295x2 from OcUK which im thinking of replacing with 2 of the new 290x with 8GB because the added framebuffer size of 8gb (4gb additional to standard) is a massive bonus to flight simmers with loading in massive texture packs. Only downside, the current 290x 8gbs dont have the 295x2's nice connectivity (295x2 has 4 mini DPs) which 290x doesnt.

ps. the glow you can see near, but just below, the top left of the screen is a reflection, not some screen defect! :)

do you have beta acces to elite? i presume so, if so what the frame rates and look/feel of the game on this monitor?
im using an aoc 29" ultra wide @ 2560x1080 and interested in a new monitor but unsure about the LG Flatron 34UM95-P due to all the negative remarks i keep seeing.

I wondered if anyone would spot that. No, sadly I haven't paid out for the Elite beta, only the pre-release. I found this 3440x1440 image online, but it's impending arrival is one of the main reasons I stumped up for this monitor :).

I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance of my GTX780 with this thing. Have yet to find a game that does't perform fine, but I know that is quite a subjective thing. From what I have read I don't expect Elite to be any different, but take that for what its worth (not much!). I plan to upgrade to one of the new 16/20nm GPUs in the spring next year anyway to really nail any possible performance issues (GTX 980 not enough of a step up IMO).

As I posted earlier in this thread I am really very happy with this monitor. I know quality, especially when it comes to bleed, can vary and some are more sensitive to lag and pixel delay than others, but, short of OLED I find this as close to perfect for my purposes as I am likely to get in the next few years, balancing resolution and GPU capability. No complaints here, even @£1000!
