Forza 3 - Time Trial Championship

Damn, Well that was uber-tough!!

I didn't enjoy that much at all, very frustrating indeed! I had to use stability control to get some sense of smoothness and a decent flow going!

How Nightstalker and Widget set such awesome times so quickly is impressive!

I feel your pain Mr Latte, I kept swapping to a PAD, then back to the wheel, both suited different parts of the track..

I think I just eeked out the quickest time at 1:15.357, but that was a big stretch for me..

For this week, if I have to pick the track/car I have two tracks/two cars that seem more friendlier..

Tracks
A. Camino Viejo : Full (Reverse)
B. Road Atlanta : Full

Cars
A. Lambo Miura Concept (2006)
B. Ford RS200

Both cars are AWD, the Lambo is quite rewarding to drive and a bit sharper/ more forgiving then the RS200 , but both are much easier then the Porsche GT3.

The tracks are good, I always liked the flow of Road Atlanta, some interesting lines can be used, and the reverse Camino Viejo is much more challenging then the normal direction, plus people should have more time on it from the Demo (albeit the other way around!)..

What do we all say?

ok, 9 laps deep, 1:27.861

haven't got a screenie yet but I did a 1:34something on my first lap...

only prob with the standard RS is it lacks the 6th gear for the long straight.....

I know I can get a lot more out of this beast....

Question:

I actually have one of these in my career, can I use it in Hot Lapping if I reset it all to standard, but keep my custom paintjob?

1:26.484 after about 15 laps

Pad, ABS, manual gears auto clutch. Everything else off.

I think this is rather challenging, even more so than the GT3 last time out. It's a 80s group B special so it's a bit agricultural to those who are used to Skyline's etc. Epic turbo boost, loads of lag, short wheelbase and shoddy brakes. Fantastic!

The last little chicane before the hill-bridge is a tricky one, even 4wd doesn't keep it locked, and that sharp left hander after the mildly-swervy downhill can prove trickysome. Also that initial left-right bit at the top of the first hill, you can lose/gain sooo much time there if you get it just wrong/right. I approve!

Well havnt tried yet but nice to see a track you can really attack and oh a 4WD car.

What do you guys think so far on this combo?

*shouts at the damn kerb at the top of the hill after the first bend that he ALWAYS jumps straight over in races*

:p

The car is interesting, great initial turn in, but not a huge amount of grip, couldn't handle more differently to the cars I tend to drive. Been driving my Diablo loads at the moment and it's completely the opposite :p

I think it's a lot easier than the last combo, as I can go round without any penalties and for me it's going to be the way I get used to my new steering wheel.

Done 8 laps - I can't do any more in one session because I get too annoyed by my own stupid mistakes

So yeah,

01:25:874 (Pad, no assists)

Just done 60+ laps, and I set this at about lap 50. At lap 48 I was on a 1:30.3xx, then I just had 3 amazing laps in a row, and managed to drop down to the following!

Another 10+ laps and I just went to pot again!

Wireless Pad, no assists, braking line only.

I'm loving the car....absolutely loving it...

Also find the track is somewhat forgiving in places like the chicane after the long back straight and finding it easy to slip the car through the corners.

Also I find if you start to loose the back end, bumping up another gear seems to straighten it out quickly.

As for my screenshot quality, well, that is the best I can do with a mobile phone camera....I've even dimmed the lcd screen right down just to get a clearish shot....
