Forza 3 - Time Trial Championship

1:26.902... not bothering with a screenshot as i can go quite a bit faster, just need to get some quiet time when i can concentrate for a minute without interruption.

Well it just goes to show I needn't worry about tuned cars so much online when I'm about two seconds off the top pace here and inconsistent :o

Grip is ok on the RS200 its just the understeer (rally setup) that's a problem from the first corner to the last.

Can do consistent 25's but again finding it hard to do a perfect lap, keep trying to beat the ghost at every corner.:(

Pad, manual, braking line, all others off.

A reasonable starter time although a 24 is def on the cards. I'm enjoying this car more than last week and at least you can take some kerb and not worry about a penalty.

Edit/ Scratch that, into the 24s now.

Which ghosts are people using?, am I correct in thinking you can only load a ghost from the top 200 times?

My fastest at the moment is 1:29:625 and the slowest ghost i've found is around 1:23 so its way ahead.

I thought only the top 100 times were available to download a ghost from but having checked the leaderboards there are ghosts sporadically all the way down into the 200s.

Anyway it is pointless downloading a ghost unless it is exactly the same car with exactly the same tuning setup as you will not learn anything as they have completley different characteristics on the track.

Edit/ Has anyone noticed oddities in the leaderboards, I was looking at Katooms time and if I just scroll down the 'Top Scores' list it showed him in a Porsche Cayman, then if I selected 'Near Me' and scrolled to find him it showed a Ford GT, however I then added him as a favourite viewed my 'Favourites' leaderboard and it shows him correctly in a Ford RS200. Equally my own personal time is shown as a Ford RS200 on all leaderboards except the 'Near Me' filter which shows me in a Subaru WRX '05!

I think that's a bug in the scroll logic of the leaderboard, twice I've been scrolling through and it's shown my car as something completely random! if I go back in, the car is then shown correctly!..

Nice time btw.. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the missus phoned my on Saturday and told me she had seen MW2 for £26 in the supermarket she was in, and did I want a copy?.. so it's being a bit distracting!

The point of this is to have non-modified cars so the times are down to the drivers skill (or lack of in my case). Changing settings would defeat the purpose...

final drive, the front and rear anti-roll bars and the tyres are all adjustable on the standard RS200.

Surely changing these is acceptable as you are not adding new components to the car to gain more power or more tuning options....the car is still standard.

Im fairly sure the whole point is to keep it default so everyone is on a level playing field, a few people wouldn't know where to start with tweaking etc.

I quote from the first post :

Rules:

* To avoid any cheating, the car must be standard (saves everyone having to spend a lot of credits)

I did have a quick go with a tweaked final drive (car in my garage, benchmark test) just to see what happened, and surprisingly it was slower down the straight. Go figure!

I reckon regardless of having that extra few mph down the straight, you'd lose out over the distance of the lap as your spending a lot of time in 3rd and 4th gears through the first and second sector. and then in the last sector on the chicane and up the hill. The acceleration out of those corners is more important than that extra speed.

and it's not cheating because I am using a bog standard car with no additional addons. Just using the options that are available with the standard car.

Makes no difference cos I still can't beat a 1:27.998 which is my best....
