FORZA 3 - Time Trial

GT is MagicBoyUK. Time was certified.

Without turning the xbox on I was racing a ghost time that was a couple of seconds quicker from a higher PI car. The ghost looked like a Golf Mk5/6, so that's probably on the leaderboard.

I'll happily run again and grab a photo or post a replay if you'd like. I race in organised events online, so I'm not in the habit of making times up. ;)

Nice DTM paintjob BTW.

No, I wasn't insinuating anything like that, I was just going to add the people from this thread to my favorites list so I can keep track of their times through the leaderboard.

No worries :D

I seem to already have you added from last time OcUK ran something similar.

On a related theme FMUK (www.forzamotorsport.co.uk) are due to start a 90s DTM themed series called the Cossie Cup next Sunday evening. Fixed storefront tune in A-class, choice of the M3, Merc 190E or Sierra RS500. The 190 and RS500 are DLC cars so you'll need the DLC pack to race one or at least the sample pack to see other peoples cars. I started racing with FMUK about a year back after Demon posted some clips of the Clio Cup which looked fun. If anyone's interested you'll need to register on the site and sign up before 6pm tomorrow.

First attempt, half a dozen laps while talking to the wife who was watching...

Managed 1:08.662 clean with a pad, manual gears and braking line. Might have a bash with the full line as some of my approaches seem awful. I'm horribly wide on becketts and too fast into brooklands which leaves me struggling to get round the following turn.

I reckon on a good run and with a fair wind and a bit of luck I could knock a second off my time, but I doubt I'll manage more than that.

EDIT: Down to 1:07.736, so I've nearly chipped off that second. I can still see my ghost making mistakes, but I'm really into diminishing returns now, unless I can find a way to put together a "perfect" lap. I'm struggling to find a line through Maggotts that lets me brake enough to keep close on Beckett and accelerate away well, and I still can't do a good enough job on Brooklands.

The car is quite unforgiving... I'm finding that even the tiniest clip on the rumble strips with the front wheels while I'm turning leads to some sideways action.

hopefully i'll be able to make a big impression here at least, being a major forza fan.

good to see all the driver aids locked off (and braking line allowed). expect a time from me tomorrow

you'll be really surprised to hear that my GT is Reaper 392
i'll try and put a replay in the storefront or something, because ive more than likely used another car for this track with a higher PI

This sounds like fun, but I really don't want to use that car! I might have a go sometime, but wish I could use a car from the same class with the same number.

sorry guys, i couldnt resist giving it a quick go.

current PB: 1:05.660
2771st on leaderboard as of this post

ABS: off
TCS: off
STM: off
autobrake: off
gears: manual with clutch
driving line: braking only
just using the standard controller (with my wierd GT4 like control setup)

this car sure isnt easy to drive, and playing test drive since release hasnt helped one bit, but i managed to bang in a nice one on lap 6. i reckon it has a little bit more to give, but i dont really like driving the car, so im gonna leave it there for the time being.

if you want my replay i will send it to you (my storefront is full)

Best i could do so far is 1:08.577.

I Know where I am going wrong as I see my ghost doing it but I'm just having a little trouble with the car.

No assists, pad, auto gears, braking line.

Some good times in there I will update the op with the current times and have a go again. Late night at wirk yesterday and working till 4 today.

As for doing trials on other tracks with different cars I will organise that layer.

On iPhone so excuse any spelling errors

Pretty slow but what the hell it was fun.

Assists off, braking line, manual no clutch, pad.

Will have another blast later been awhile since I had a go on this.

I've just done a 1:07.170 with no assists other than the braking line...which I never really use anyway. I haven't played this at all since GT5 came out so I've lost my edge from when we did the Nurburgring trials, think I'll have to start playing it a bit more to readjust to the physics etc.

Well I'm off work today as I can't move my neck so I've been messing around with using the clutch. I've never used it before but I know it makes a difference when TTing so I thought I'd give it a go.

Managed a 1:05.598

that's with tyre pressures of

F-31
R-29.5

The replay is on my storefron and its on lap 8.

Inever used the clutch do youhave too take the throttle off whenyou change gear like a real car? Sorry if that sounds a dumb question lol

I don't, no. Maybe Reaper can give a betterfaster method.

I assigned the clutch as button A, then just kind of roll my thumb over A quickly before it hits the B button.

The same for changing down.

no, you dont need to come off the accellerator if you use the clutch.
if you have the damage on it might damage something, but i always have damage on cosmetic so i dont know for sure

also, nice time i-bert. how much of a difference did the tyres make - i just drove it in free run with standard tyre settings, and was battling with oversteer constantly

Think I'll have a crack at this before the footy tonight :)
What's a "clean lap" and a "dirty lap" ??

if you go on the grass or something like that, you will see a little triangle with an ! inside it pop up by your time. when that happens, it means you have a dirty lap.

you get that penalty by:
- using rewind
- cutting corners
- drafting other players
- having other players draft you
- crashing, or being crashed into

if you get a penalty on the last section of the lap, it will carry over to the next lap too (except if you got the penalty from rewinding only)

I felt you could carry much more corner speed at the first corner with that little extra in the fronts. I'm not sure if the rears did change that much though.
