FORZA 3 - Time Trial

some go faster stripes (a random paint from a friend of mine) and changing the tyre pressures made a nice little difference. not sure what i changed them too, but it definitly helped with the oversteer slightly.

new time is 1:05.533
rank ~2440th

there is definitely more time in it, because i was behind my previous ghost on the first corner, and was a little too eager in the last one, but it'll do for now.

the balls in your court now bert :D

Down to 1:07.424 and it's really a struggle. I'm improving bit by bit, but it's hard to put it all together. I'm getting better at the corners and I think I'm managing my gear changes better, but it's still hard to do everything right. I'd love to beat the Golf ghost I've got going, but I doubt I'll manage it in this life.

Still, I've knocked off the second I'd hoped for, and more.

New time from me today..

01:07.967

I dont think I can improve on that to be honest..

Edit: Updated the OP with current standings. I am positive I can knock off at least .600-.800 of a second somewhere to make it into the top half of the standings. I need to practise Brooklands and Luffield. I seem to be crap there, either braking too late and taking it wide or slowing down too much and struggling to catch up with my best ghost.

That'll do me..

*edit - Actually it won't! 1:07.767

Copse is OK mostly. The Maggots/Becketts bit is OK but I haven't hit it right yet. Brooklands/Luffield I'm just all over the place. Too slidey there!

I'm pretty pleased with that time. If I gave it more maybe .5 of a sec off again but I am done!

Done a 1:05.624.

Using man clutch (i-bert way) and a bit more pressure in the tires.
Can string a few in the high 1:05's now but finding it hard to get quicker.

Edit.

I'm using bumper cam.

Don't know if it'll help. (i'm not the quickest)

First corner, slight dab on the brake, 4th gear.
Next corner down to 3rd, keep the car settled, try to get good drive out down the straight.
3rd for the left then 2nd for the final right, try to square it of a bit to get good drive.
Smooth on and off the brake. Leave it rev well into the redline.

Almost exactly what I do, but I use 2nd for the 3rd corner too.

I can manage the first corner at the end of the home straight at full pelt near enough. All I do is ease of the throttle a little just before the braking line suggests and I can make it round. Might drift very slightly.

Its the Brooklands and Luffield that mucks me around. I still think I can knock at least one maybe two seconds off.

a lot of the time people brake when they don't actually need to, just release throttle and you can roll round, dependant on corner, speed and car obviously. :P

Not had a chance to get on the xbox yet. :(

That's near enough what I do, though I tend to drop to 2nd on the tighter corners, though that just means I end up hitting the limiter fairly soon on the way out, so I probably lose something in those changes. The car seems to be fairly comfortable at up to about 8k revs, then I think you tend to drop out of the power band.

I'm crossing the line at 107-108mph going into the new lap. Is that about in line with what other people are managing?

I'm getting 111mph over the line.
