I heard some noises behind the microwave last night, pulled it out and found this little guy. He just kind of sat there, so I caught him in a pint glass, and took him down the road to a local park. Couldn't bring myself to "dispose" of him properly.

I've just moved into my house, I'm redecorating the whole place but haven't done the kitchen yet. Does anyone have any experience with mice? Any chance this is just a lone mouse or am I going to have loads of them somewhere and have to start laying traps?

I'd personally say, judging by the type of mouse, he's a loner (awww).

Can always get a few humane traps and lie them around.

its odd that he just let you catch him! In my experience there is never just one mouse theres normally a whole group, you might be lucky and he was all alone though

Awwwww

(yes I know he's vermin before anyone starts, just very cute vermin :D )

We had a mouse in our house (ooh look rhyming!), not see it for a long time and have had no problems since. We get mice all the time in our garden but the cat puts paid to most of them.

Spiders on the other hand...

If he just let you catch him there must have been something wrong with him

If he was starled, and suddenly exposed to lights, he might have just been a bit blinded, and stunned. So you were able to catch him easily.

Looks like a standard house mouse, there will be others too :)

*edit* Oh, and the presense of house mice probably means you dont have rats, as Rats will kill the mice.

He is a Scout for the invading mouse army, Seems like your house is the front line of the first wave, Unlucky Dude.

It was a bit weird I think he was just really scared, I thought maybe it was some kind of deluded defence thing - "if I don't move he can't see me".

When I got him in the pint glass he was jumping around like mad trying to get out, and he ran of pretty quick when I released him.
