When building my new system a couple of months ago, I got this board on the recommendation of another OCUK'er. Now ive noticed OcUK no longer stock this particular range and have heard from several people that this board has issues with "Socket Burn" amongst other things...

What I want to know is if you had the option to change your board from this, which would you get? I would like to overclock but have found the Foxconn Renaissance to be quite restrictive, flashing the bios has never taken and has required CMOS resets.

All advice is appreciated....

socket burn? New onee to me tbh. Foxconn 1156 sockets under heavy volts yes.....

Renaissance wasn't really sold as an OC board, never seen anyone recommend it as such. The BR and BR gti were foxconn's OC X58 boards.

TBH i'd ask myself if I needed to OC at all- stock x58 platform is blazingly quick.

I agree that they are stupidly fast, ive thrown all kinds at it and have never noticed it struggle.... I guess im just wanting to see how much more I can get out of it...
