FPS ADDICT needs YOUR HELP!!!!

Wassup forum its your one and only FPS addict,

well anyways, i got 2 weeks left at B&Q because i do not want to work there anymore.

I have got a job interview at Toys R us on tuesday, can someone please give me any tips and what to wear to the interview? i was thinkin just shirt and tie with black trousers and black shoues?

this is my second ever interview, the last one was with B&Q and as you can tell it was succesfull, (did i forget to mention the manager was my cousin :)

does anybody work in toys r us, or know someone that works there? i NEED SOME Tips!!!!!!

Jesus wept.

If you can, wear a suit, if that's not possible wear smart trousers, shoes, shirt and a tie. Look clean, have a shave and don't wear any aftershave, they'll cotton on your a paedophile.

Peado jokes aside ... how hard can a job interview at Toys R us be, really?
Basic motoring skills and the ability to string a sentence together would most likely suffice.

They're just jealous you'll be working at the biggest Lego seller in the UK (and there is a LOT of lego over christmas).:p

On a serious note for the interview:

You will have a group interview, which consists of various team work and individual excercises, for example we were given a toy and asked to describe how we would sell it*, we had to do a group poster and a role play excercise. Pretty simple if you have some imagination and sense.:)

Then there will be an individual interview, pretty standard, "why do you want to work there etc".

*Could be anything from a Barbie to a Hotwheel set, just because you're male doesn't mean you won't get a Barbie (in fact you're probably more likely to get one.:p

Clothing wise, yeah, shirt, tie, shoes and trousers.

(I worked there as a christmas temp last year so had my interviews pretty much this time last year)

I used to work in Toys R Us, what a horrible place it was!
On a Sunday morning you would come in, there would be no music over the radio as it was to early but you would hear the toys r us/barbie tunes on these small screens dotted around the store! It was haunting

Apparently they are really picky...:p

However the hardest question I had to answer was why, as a graduate, I was going for the job.:D

What department of B&Q do you work in?

I was there for 2 years on Decor/Flooring. Wasn't too bad but ended up going into full time employment. I know people who still work and apparently it's turned into an absolute hell hole.

Retail!

Lidl declined me when I sent them my CV. They look for people who don't think too far ahead (having worked retail before years ago).

Their rejection letter said I did not meet their rquirements.

I laughed.

Yea, I LOL'ed at your response. No where in an "real job" interview have I ever been grilled as you did for a temp job at Toys R Us! :D
