When I click your trust button all I was getting was a white square coming up, I have sent trust mails before but it just wouldn't work.

OK. It's working for me. Incidentally the friend request came in Your Notifications just below "you last visited" in the top right corner. I think it appeared late but I may just not have noticed it - particularly as I was browsing on my mobile earlier.
