For those who like ice-cream, a little heads up, tomorrow between 1 - 5pm (a couple of places are 6-9pm, check link for times) Ben and Jerry's are giving away free cones of ice cream around the world ! Check link for places you can get them. Shame none in Cardiff :(

Ben & Jerry's Apologize for "Black & Tan" Name

Ben & Jerry's has apologized for naming their newest ice cream flavor "Black & Tan." A Ben & Jerry's spokesman was quoted as saying, "Any reference on our part to the British Army unit was absolutely unintentional and no ill-will was ever intended."

The Black & Tan was a militia that operated during Ireland's war of independence during the 1920's. The name arrives from their two-toned uniforms. The name of the militia still arouses strong feelings in parts of Ireland.

The ice cream is only available in the U.S. currently. The ice cream's name was chosen because of an ale and stout drink that shares the same name. Ben & Jerry's commits itself on friendly business, and was built on the philosophies of peace and love.
