Free software to test the health of a Hard drive?

Just wondering if you know of any free software that can test my hard drives health.

My hard drive randomly disconnected from my PC and I'm wondering if it was just a freak incident, or if the drive is slowly failing

Is it a Samsung (they have their own app).

I like to use Clear Disk Info these days as I find it clear to understand yet detailed.

Must have a proper look at this.

I have the pro version of SSD Life installed so I'm guessing this would be a lot more detailed.
