I signed up last week as they do a minimum contract of 6 months as I live in rented accomodation so it is ideal. A number of people had recommended them also.

I have just redeived the following email,

Your order`s provision is currently delayed due to a capacity problem in your local telephone exchange.

Unfortunately due to a higher than expected uptake of ADSL in your area, the physical ports and/or bandwidth have become too full. This problem will be affecting multiple customers and also on other telephone exchanges up and down the country.

We do not have an estimated resolution date from our wholesaler at this time, although from our experience these problems are normally resolved in anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. We will also notify you as soon as the capacity problem is resolved.

We would like to apologise for this delay and any inconvenience that it has caused.

Please also bear in mind that there is no need to contact BT or any other party regarding this issue. Please make sure any queries are sent to ourselves by reply to this email or by calling the number below.

Kind regards,

Any thoughts on it? Ive never heard of there being no capacity left in the exchange?

No capacity is a deffinite problem, we have a Branch that couldnt get broadband, because another company had used all the capacity at the exchange.

I also use F2S for my ISP and have not had one bit of trouble.

I have been with them for about 6 months, and in that time I have not lost my connection once. They also activated my BB about 3 days before it was due to go live which was nice.

That would've been BT, not F2S. I signed up my grandmother for ADSL a few weeks ago, she was activated in under 3 days! Estimated 7-10 as usual.

Just depends how busy BT are, and if there's someone going to the exchange.

I'm with F2S - no problems to speak of really.
