I've got a spare Freeview box and would like to buy a cheapish PCI TV card for my bedroom comp, my question is ... Can I use the Freeview box with it? Reason I ask is, the Freeview box has 2 x scart sockets on the back, but I'm wondering if they are needed? can I use the Freeview box in conjunction with a TV card using just the co-ax in out sockets?

It would be as cheap to get a dedicated tv card which handles freeview like the compro rage in the overclockers store. 1 is just dtv and the other analogue and dtv but both offer video/audio in for external input.

Thanks, just had a look and they are not as expensive as I thought, might give them a go.

Does anyone have any direct experience with these cards? I bought a Freeview USB stick for my laptop from the auction site a while back and it takes half an hour to tune in the channels and does not name them all, and then wont even store the channels the next time, so its a half hour of tuning each time and hoping it finds the channels I want ... no problem with reception, my built in Freeview on my living room telly is fine.

But if those PCI cards are reliable, I'll probably buy one.

I have the compro T200. it does take about 10 minutes to find and store channels. it wont have an issue not finding the names but if it doesnt find a channel, auto scan unfortunatly starts again. you can add channels manualy if you know the frequencys. It always has the backup option of svideo in if you find you need to hook up the box. latest drivers and software can be found at http://www.comprousa.com
