Hi there,

My freeview box won't stop crashing. It crashes everyday now and I have to take out the power plug and put it back in.

Why does it do this and is there a way to prevent it?

My Freeview box is a: DigiFusion FRT 101.

Thanks.

Buy cheap buy twice!
quoted for truth, I have a panasonic box in my living room that cost me abour £80 3 or so years ago and it is still solid as a rock. We purchased and returned 3 cheap ones for our bedroom before going out and buying a decent quality branded one which has so far been problem free!

I have lost count of the number of "deaf" Philips boxes I have come across.

Signals from the aerial are absolutely perfect but the box just can't stop pixellating at random and losing muxes. Eventually these Philips boxes just give up and won't find any channels.

They are just plain awful.

the philips box i had kept crashing until it just crashed and wouldnt do anything after even after unplugging etc, just stayed on a green light constantly

ive got a humax f2-fox-t now and it really is fantastic. not crashed at all and has a decent pic and audio quality :)

I am a big fan of Humax kit. The PVR's are very responsive to any sort of user input. They make good STB for Terrestrial and satellite.

Sometimes cheap and cheerful can work okay. I've got a cheapo Matsui in my TV room and it works great. Apart from the other day when it randomly pitch shifted all the audio coming out of the box so women sounded like men. Tres bizarre.

these freeview boxes just don't like getting hot, I've got a philips in the living room that crashed a lot. it was inside the tv cabinet next to the xbox, it's only when I took it out and stood it upright next to the TV that it started to behave.

I used to have problems with my cheap goodmans freeview box crashing and losing the signal.

Then i got a nice box with a hard drive in it. Its great, its only crashed a few times in the 12 months ive had it :)
