Freeview...

Depends where you're going to fit it. In the loft is quite easy. On the roof needs care, for obvious reasons. Of course you have to run cables too.

In your case, however, it's up to the landlord, not you (unless of course the landlord says it's OK for you to do it).

It would be in the loft I imagine, can you not use the existing wire?

what internet do you use? Had same problem as you at uni (newcastle is crap for analogue too tbh!) just got virgin media internet installed and ran tv through one of their set top boxes, problem solved!

What I have found is that with Freeview where we are there are in fact 2 sets of channels and if I get break up on one I simpy swap it for the other version and all is fine. So there are 2 BBC1's' BBC2's etc on my Sony set top boxes. I have a BBC1 on channel 001 and channel 800 and they are at different strengths!

Is it worth spending £30+ on an indoor aerial? My girlfriend gets bad reception at her new flat. That's with a £13 Argos aerial. Would she actually see better reception with a more expensive aerial?

im saying that I cant imagine an argos aerial is worth £13, so a £30 aerial from somewhere decent should infact be somewhat massively better in terms of quality etc.

Im not sure though, ask someone whos maybe tried one.
Sometimes you're fighting a losing battle with TV signals tho.

Well that was my point really. I'm not sure how much an aerial can make if the reception is crappy. I thought anywhere in London would be decent!
