Fresh install of OS X on new HDD - Macbook

As per title -

whats the best way of installing Leopard on a new HDD for my Macbook?

How to format the drive etc

• Put in OS X cd, restart the Mac.
  
• Hold down C on boot to boot from disc.
  
• Follow the prompts and click "Erase and Install"
  
• Select "Customise" to select the elements you want, then click OK.
  
• Wait for about 15 minutes.

Sheer laziness.

I got Leopard on release day from Apple Meadowhall.

Did you let it run through the verifying disk bit?

If you only select the bare essentials (none of that print driver nonsense) and don't let it verify the disc it takes less than 30 minutes from insert -> desktop.

It took about 45-50 mins all in, with only basic stuff selected for install.
