The one on the right is a 1934 Ford, chopped roof, 4.2 litre Rover V8 with 5 speed manual box. It's an animal and drives as good as it looks! Damn shame Dad had to go and get a garage, my drive looked great!

Right, a Google Image search on Ford Pop:

Now that is a tasty dish.
Do these cars all have uprated breaks and suspension and steering and all that kind stuff?
Any sites where I could find out more? Cause if I was gonna hot rod it, Id like to do as much as I can myself.

Yup, normally not much original left on them at all except for the body. There are lots of tech articles and Uk meets at www.uk-hotrods.co.uk and there's a hotrod only forum at www.nsra.org.uk which is the governing body for hotrods over here.

Easy things to do to Pops are drop in a 2 litre and 5 speed from a Sierra or a 1600 crossflow and convert the brakes to Escort RS2000. Most of this early Ford stuff is identical in fitment or very few mods needed to make it fit if you choose your parts carefully. Even the Zetec shares the same bolt pattern as the old Anglia engine and bolts up to the same gearboxes.

Wow cool. I was expcting serious engine problems cause i wouldnt think it would fit etc.
Man, this is lookong like a reality!
Just got to take welding classes.

Just buy a 150 amp MIG welder and get some practice on an old junk hatchback. It's easy when you get the hang of it.

I have been thinking of getting one from bandq or maybe my dad can get me one cheap, youd recommend mig welding opposed to the other types im unfamiliar with. Id most likely just tack stuff in place and get it properly welded(especially critical piece)

No it's not.. a car lowered on photoshop has the giveaways pretty much level with the lower body of the car.

Yes it is, they would've masked the arch line and to the edge of the picture and then selected the whole upper part of the picture and moved it down, hence the repetition, its hard to tell at the wheel/lower body level because its gravel and grass which easily blends back in.

Its blatantly obvious from the tree repetition (downwards, not across) that's whats been done.

Exactly... when I lower cars with PS I make a selection including the whole upper part of the pic, including the car body - and lower that down over the lower half... It leaves the entire upper part of the picture untouched.

Also.. that sort of truck, it's very unlike that someone would build it like that not lower it straight off the bat, tbh.

I'm not denying it's photoshopped, but to me it looks far more likely that the upper right hand part of the picture has been edited to remove something that was previously in the photo.

Edit - I can see where you're coming from now. If it has been lowered in PS, they should have just cropped the top of the pic off instead of cloning it out! Seems an odd way of doing it, and doesn't add up with how well the lowering part has been done, if it has. Strange.

Its not cloned, its just they've done a layer by copy and moved the 2nd layer down, leaving the original picture underneath with only a bit showing at the top, as the rest is covered by the now lowered second layer. But yeah, they should've just cropped it at the top.

They've done such a nice job of the lowering bit (if they have!) (but yeah you win they have) and proper ballsed it up by being lazy on the top. :(

Man, looking at these, all I can think of is ZZ Top.
Someone give me some tasty stats please so I can appreciate what they're all about :)
(Apologies for a heretic barging into your thread)
