Friend rolled his car...

Insurance is there for a reason, to insure you incase you have an accident. He'll be paying for it for the next few years anyway.

He's 21.

Even I don't try 2 car overtakes all to often, And I can't stand plebs speeding up as soon as you get alongside them, usually why I'll stealth overtake, but even then if they try it I can usually get ahead of them if I want to, they're usually driving a soot chucker, and think their in the Monaco GP, when in reality they're not.

Don't see what people hope to achieve by purposefully speeding up when you're in the middle of an overtaking manoveure.

And it certainely sounds like the OP's mate overcooked it a bit.

I used to overtake just fine in a 1.1 Mini Clubman, I do think that overtaking in underpowered cars does require more 'thought' then something quicker, that's kind of obvious, but it's all down to the driver at the end of the day.

I think the issue is more if something unexpected happens (Such as someone speeding up) that more power gives you more options, but lets face it, this was someone that clearly has not got a clue about the limits of his car, and how to control it.

I haven't binned any yet :D. Though saying that I'll probably go and roll the Saxo on the way to Uni tomorrow now :p.

At the OP: Whilst attempting two cars at once in a 1.2 Punto isn't exactly sensible, if car 1 had been doing a decent speed or car 2 had overtaken car 1 (and thus car 3's overtake would only be of one car) this accident wouldn't have happened.

Glad he is okay and will learn not try taking 2 cars again when in a hairdryer. Even if the other plonker did accelerate he still shouldn't of tried it. In another note good to see typical moronic responses from motors aswell as the usual "We just don't believe him." from the typical gods of motoring in here.

I used to have a 60bhp diesel Fiesta, and can appreciate how hard a 2 car overtake is :p

One of the main reasons for getting something relatively 'warm' is so I can get past plonkers doing 25mph in all the NSL country lanes here.

I had a Mk1 Punto that towards the end the engine would stall when i depressed the clutch (yea, i know.) and didn't manage to roll / put it into another car / ditch i'll say hopefully the guy was just unlucky rather than a poor call on his part.

Back end swings out to the left when steering left?? Somebody doesn't know their right & left.

Reminds me of this incident, although admittedly better driving skills on display.

Thats exactly what happened to me only on a wet bit of road and going slower. The tail stepped out and I caught it, then it sprung back in the other direction and I didnt get the wheel back round quick enough and went into a kerb. Cost me £150 for a new alloy but thats all that was damaged so I cant complain too badly as it coulda been a lot worse.
