So he ended up buying the low mileage one in the end, they gave him 9.5k trade in on his 325i which he was happy with.

He has a question regarding tyres - Can normal tyres be used or are you limited to runflats. Also any recommendations?

Thanks.

What a shame, I think he's made a huge mistake really, not sure he's getting £10k of value out of the change but never mind. It's also 5 years old and is the very early example which was quite thirsty and costs £445 a year to tax. Bonkers mad.

I think anyone buying that was a bit mad but coming out of a 1 year newer fundamentally identical car? Sigh..

But yea, you can replace the tyres.

Contisport Contact 3's if he wants to go right now, otherwise maybe wait for the new Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 and see how it compares, been hearing very good things about it.

This seems to suggest its true and that not only do you keep the sub 60k warranty prices, you keep the terms and conditions as well, so you retain suspension cover

Wow - awesome. So buy up to 59k, take it monthly and there you go?

The only issue seems to be that they are entitled to change this at any time in the future so it shouldnt be relied upon...

This is great news if true, I'd much rather buy a 58/09 with 55k than a 57/08 with 30-40k.

This was my understanding, although I hadn't banked on it being the case. Really great news for me as I'm currently paying monthly for a fully comprehensive extended BMW warranty and intend to continue to do so. The car is a keeper for me and with 24K on the clock and me only putting 6K a year on it I can have relatively trouble free motoring for some time to come. :D

Sorry for going off topic slightly.

jumping in a bit but can you change RFT without any hassles for insurance and or the run flat sensors etc on a 530D E60?

I'm getting fed up with £200 plus a corner as I have a slow puncture at the moment in right rear tyre.

Only downside is no spare tyre i guess!
