Im not sure of what psu his got but its a decent one, expensive 500/600w

The 1st time he put it all together he had the ram in the black slots when they should have been in the yellow, so when he powerd up it gave 1 long beap with 2 short after. then he put the ram in the yellow slots where they should be, and he gets no beaps or anything. All the fans are turning including the gc but he has no signal to his monitor, or any bleaps.

If he takes out the gc and leaves the ram in, he gets 1 long and 3 short which according to this website, is the ram

http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm

when the ram was in the wrong slots, he got 1 long and 2 short which is the gc (even tho the gc was in) Im baffled

anyone have any suggestions

havnt got a clue, its what ever comes as stock, ocuk say the Asus P5B supports cor 2 duo ready, has no mention of the bios needing upgrading

Its a fairly common problem that the bios needs updating on these boards. Have alook at the post in the mobo section, maybe post a question in there as they may be able to help more :)

we dont talk about this much anymore....lol.......but i forced some ram in backwards and it borked the gfx card and two ram slots and a stick of ram! i know messy. So just try some other ram in there, test the card in another rig. Oh and pray

if theres no beebs or monitor signal then try one stick of ram in the first slot. then clear the cmos for like 15mins and take the battery out. then stick it back in put the jumpers into the correct position and try again.

no luck with that then u could be short circuiting your board somewhere on the brass standoffs!!

and make sure the 4atx and 24atx power connectors are properly in! ;)
