Fuel price discussion thread (was ‘chaos’)

Petrol is OKish around here but diesel all the not silly expensive places are out - apparently they've even had people trying to fill water butts in the back of their vehicle, etc. the more expensive places still have diesel though :s

No E5 or E10 shortages at all in London & SE....Diesel however some are clearly stockpiling its getting in very short supply!

Seems to be some stations around here running dry also, and a couple of locals ones have upped their pricing on diesel again, one is back to 189.9p per litre.

Wish they’d just run the protestors over and carry on.

Someone's gonna snap and it's going to get very dark very quickly, mark my words. It's coming, and when it happens, I'll personally go buy that person a beer. These vermin deserve nothing better, the utter cockroaches that they are.

Problem with these protests, I'm generally not against protests about the environment or cost of living, etc., aside from being hugely misguided they are likely being manipulated by those who have a motivation for disruption at the moment... and in being part of it are helping to support Russia.

I don't think intelligence ranks very highly on their Trump cards tbh.

As I've said in the past - I don't care what anyone else does, says, thinks or identifies as. Do what you want, be who you want to be, makes zero difference to me. When you're deliberately upsetting the flow of civilization because you're too arrogant and stupid to understand the consequences, that's when it becomes a problem. At that point any and all sympathy goes out the window and I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire.

Go protest at Downing street, or somewhere else where they have the power to change things, not on public roads.

Still no petrol shortages in London or SE at all. Spoke to a few forecourts today they say supplies are really good no problem getting petrol at all lots of supply around & regular deliveries. Doubt there will be any problems over the long weekend for petrol.

Came back from holiday Friday, as I got closer to home and needing fuel the stations seemed to be busier, tried a few in MK and we're all empty.

There are definitely a few shortages in Bedfordshire/MK area, but I managed to get some yesterday.

Not seen any issues around here either. Filled up at 160p today

Protest if outside Downing Street will get them nothing not even a mention on the news, agree with them or not this type of protest gets noticed! Women didn’t get the vote by standing peacefully outside number 10!

Mixed around here - to the north of me everywhere seems to have both diesel and petrol fine, to the south and west all the cheap places have been out all day of diesel, mid-priced garages ran out in the afternoon and only the places with it still were the rip off garages with prices right up in the 180s (I had 10 drivers out today at work). Petrol seemed fine.

One of my colleagues enquired in a couple of places and they said they didn't have any scheduled to come in and didn't know when it would but probably they just aren't telling people.

Found somewhere with diesel at 177 point something on the way home to fill up, they'd closed most of the pumps so as to control it due to people doing silly things.

There is a fine line though, as much as I believe sometimes only radical action can make a difference. Right now people have enough to deal with, without extra stupidity like this - they are just annoying every day people and whatever they are protesting about will get lost in the noise, that is if they were actually protesting about something meaningful which in this case they are not.

160p arrgh the good old days ;) its been high 180s here in West London for a while now & motorway services high 190s  doubt they will drop the prices either whatever happens anytime soon the forecourt owners are in a greedy cartel & set prices as & when it suits them it seems.....:(

The problem is, rather than getting the general public onboard with their cause, they are doing the opposite. As Rroff says, people no longer care what they are actually protesting about, just the fact they're stopping them getting to work/holiday/helping to push food prices up etc.

It keeps the story in the news and the movement seems to be gathering numbers. Everyone is quick to say what they shouldn’t do but nobody offers a realistic alternative?

Because realistic alternatives will take decades to implement, we cant just stop oil in 1 day.
