Fuel price discussion thread (was ‘chaos’)

Yes captain obvious. But what if you want sunflower oil.

Welcome to pre-globalisation times, where everything wasn't always in season or on the shelves.

I wasn’t aware this was an issue again. Just drove past my local station on the school run and there’s a 30 car queue out the station.

Zero queue at my local Tesco's but also zero diesel or unleaded too :p Momentum still 166.9/l so did me nicely as it always does!

Did wonder, a sign was out saying no diesel though they did seemingly have a tanker off-loading.

I'm off work this week and not really been out, and I genuinely had no idea this was happening again.

Hopefully it dies off by Friday....

It's times like these I wish I was in an electric car.

Bro...you know Momentum is unleaded right :p

I did genuinely see people on Facebook when the E10 change came in with absolutely no idea that supreme/momentum/etc. were actually just fancy unleaded :o

What do you think people think it was ???

Welcome to storage tanks you mean ?

Ukraine and Russia arent exactly well known for all year round crop growing ! And this isn’t about shelves, most companies use it for making other products (food and non food) and as said in that link. All recipes need reviewing

so it seem there are plans to continue oil refinery protests
https://fueloilnews.co.uk/2022/04/terminal-operations-suspended-due-to-just-stop-oil-protests/
preti needs some emergency legislation like for m25

Daily protests planned
The demonstrations come ahead of planned daily protests by Extinction Rebellion, which are due to begin on 9 April.

“We will be easy to find, we will be easy to join, we will be more disruptive than ever, and we will be impossible to ignore,” said group’s spokesman Andrew Smith adding that the plan is to “blockade” oil terminals for “as long as possible”.

Hugely frustrating that these plebs can't just be man handled and thrown about. If they glue themselves to the road, then make it fair to tear them off no matter the risk of injury.

Drove to work this morning, North Yorkshire and 3 of the petrol station on route had signs saying sorry they had no diesel. Weird.

hong kong authorities had some indelibe/fluorescent dye in their water cannons (was it boris who failed to commission some as mayor e: ok they were scrapped)

But, are hauliers getting priority on diesel that gets out of the refineries , or, ready to pay more anyway, so diesel running out first, can hauliers stockpile diesel at their hubs.

1 station out of all fuels, next one has a huge queue blocking the road. One out of town has fuel and no queue and is cheaper. Seems like some people are just panic buying again, but are lazy? I dunno, makes no sense.
