Death toll risen to 5, with 40 still missing.

Still, this is only the start of any issues, there are likely toxins all over the place now, I expect a rise in cancer rates.

Hope the death toll doesn't continue to rise, but like you say, pollution must be huge from this kind of disaster :(

What is light crude oil?

Are we talking kerosine and gasoline mixture? As crude oil itself needs many thousand degree to ignite, I assume this stuff is the much lighter elements we tend to burn for fuel?

The flash point and auto ignition of that doesn't seem too high and I guess light crude oil is more flammable, still surprising that it exploded though. Rail cars have some ethylene glycol in often as antifreeze but that's not too flammable either.
