Today my Brother was using his Digital Camera.

The Batteries died on it or something, still leaving the Camera in Zoom mode (where the bit extends out of the Camera to get a better focus)

Well he decided to push this back in, which turned out to be a stupid idea.
Now we have put new Batteries into the Camera, when he presses the power button, the Zoom lens bit, tries to come out but it can not and on the LCD display it says "Zoom Error"

How do we make the Zoom Lens come out of the Camera?
Or will we have to take it to a Camera shop to get it fixed?

Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks guys :)

My friend did the exact same thing. He never was able to fix it but he didnt take it to the shop either. Then he knocked it off his table one day and that jsut finished it off.

How much is the camera worth? Might be worth buying a new one instead of paying to get it fixed.

Well the Camera was originally £149.99 about 18 Months ago.

The Camera is such a good one too. Will try tonight to see if we can get it out, if not looks like we will have to get our Friend who work's in a Camera shop to try and fix it.

Anymore ideas?
Thanks :)

You have a friend at a camera shop? Why didn't you say so? Diffenately go for that option!

My Nikon compacts had this error and its usually that there zoom mechanisim is bunched. Ours was fixed under warranty, but on a cheap compact it might not be an economical repair.
