Breaking news on ssn that Fulham have sacked Coleman and have appointed Lawrie Sachez as caretaker boss till the end of the season. Sanchez will still continue as NI boss though.

Bit out the blue

Must have been on the cards a while though else they wouldnt have got in touch with Lawrie Sanchez in the first place.

Didn't think Chris Coleman had done that bad with the resources he had available tbh.

Woah, that did come out of the blue. Five games left and most likely he was going this summer anyway, that they felt bringing in a new manager was the best course of action to avoid relegation.

I can't say I'm sorry for Coleman, I dislike the man.

the fulham fans made this happen with their constant booing etc - coleman had done really well when you consider he did not really spend too much money in the aftermath of tiganas sprees. fulham fans could end up to rue their relucatance to settle for regular safety. sanchez as a club manager would worry me somewhat also.

What the just heard this on ITV.

Thats quite shocking really.

I suppose my club Everton did give them a bit of a beating. :)

But I rank him as a very good manager.

I know Fulham arnt doing so well this season but with not that games left in the season they onyl person I would think to get them out of the rutt that they are in would be Chris Coleman. He knows the players etc I can see them doing quite badly now actually with a new manager this far into the season.

Seems very harsh to me, and rather pointless too. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go down now.

I've always liked Chris Coleman, comes across as a nice, honest guy and he's always had good things to say about our team and the way we play.

I rate Coleman given the resources available, even José over at Chelski rates Coleman. I mean he's a pretty down to earth, sensible guy, yet they think sacking Coleman and bringing in Sanchez will inspire the players with five games to go? I think with or without Coleman, they'll stay up, so this is just senseless in my view.

I'm a Gunner, but when I heard the news I was bitterly dissapointed for the guy and more to the point found myself cursing the stupid board and all the impatient fans about the place who boo their own team expecting miracles.

Stupid move, Coleman is a decent manager doing a good job with what he's got. Comes across as a decent bloke too and I just can't see what Lawrie Sanchez offers that Coleman doesn't, especially at this stage of the season. Really shocked and disappointed, even though I'm a gunner :(

You pretty much reiterated my entire post. Gooner et all.

Must be the respect he gives us post game when he plays us. :D

Strange, he always seemed to have the backing from Al Fahed.

I can see Sanchez taking it full time and I guess who he will buy first...

I really really hope not... He's said he'd stay at least until the end of the Euro 08 qualifiers :(
