Is this £137 ram worth paying the extra £20-40 for lower latency compared to slower 1600mhz ram?

6-6-6 at 1600 is the sweet spot for the x58. Just as good as running 2000 at 8-8-8.

I'm running the Perfect Storms at 1600 6-6-6 and my rig is snapier than running them at 2000 8-8-8.

Am I correct in saying that the G.Skill Trident 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C9 2000MHz should also be able to run at this speed to if I wanted?

I would doubt it. I think you could expect them to run 7-7-7 at 1600 though.

Are you using the G.Skill Ram? As that rams speed is 6-7-6 not 6-6-6.

As i said, i'm running the G-Skill Perfect Storm (2000) ram at 1600 6-6-6-18-48.

I'm pretty shure the Perfect Storms are just higher binned Trident 6-6-6 1600.

I am thinking about this Trident low latency stuff as well. Does it have XMP profiles. And if you set it to 1600mhz does it automatically clock your cpu ?

Can we expect to see CAS Latencies for DDR3 drop like they did for DDR2? Like, 6-6-6 was high for 800MHz then it dropped to a low of 4-4-4
