Hi guys,

I have the following issue on a Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/AURA motherboard with a 6700K CPU.
I just bought this memory kit - G.Skill F4-3400C16D-32GTZ

Long story short, the kit works fine at 2933 MHz with 13-12-12-30 2N latencies and 1.32 V, but the system won't POST if I change the settings to 3000 MHz with 16-16-16-36 2N and 1.35V, everything else left unchanged.

The way I had them set up:
- loaded default bios settings
- activated XMP @3400MHz
- lowered the BLK back to 100, from 102
- selected 3333, 3200, 3100, 3000 until it finally worked at 2933
- lowering the latencies and voltage on memory until I got to 2933 13-12-12-30 1.32v

Is there something I am missing?

Why not just use straight xmp 102 bclk is fine. Try 1.25 io 1.25Sa 1.45 mem volts.

I will try again this evening with a bit higher voltages. but for now it looks like I will return them.
XMP @3400MHz actually has 102 bclk, but I did not raise any voltages, I left them at XMP settings.

I had for a few days this kit - CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 - and it worked without any issue at the specified speed and latencies.

Rising the voltages did not help, using higher latencies did not help. My PC would simply not POST with any memory settings above 2933.

I returned the memory kit yesterday evening.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I would be amazed if the kit would do 2933 fine and not even post at 3000. Sounds very odd. Hopefully it's the mems but could be anything odd going on there.
