The world's fastest GPU has arrived with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580. Experience blockbuster games like Call of Duty®: Black Ops and Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X® 2 in their full glory with everything cranked to the max. Not only does the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 rip through the latest games, it also runs quieter than the previous generation. And as you have come to expect from the GeForce GTX GPU, the GTX 580 packs support for all the premium GTX gaming technologies such as NVIDIA Surround, 3D Vision, PhysX and SLI. With all these features and more, it is easy to see how the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 obliterates the competition.

Instead of fans on its obverse side blowing air onto the PCB, there are three fans on its reverse side, drawing air from the aluminum fin array, and onto the PCB. The PCB also seems to be a non-reference design.

That is a cool looking card I have to admit, 3Gb of ram is just an unnecessary gimmic though, but no doubt it will appeal to the epeen brigade. Having said that can I have one please?LOL. ;)

This is very true but a price difference of around £80 for twice the VRAM as well as a custom pcb and a custom cooler I think is fantastic :)

Indeed. If I were going to get a standard 580 I would be very tempted to stick my hand down the back of the couch and rummage for some loose change to make up the £80 and get the best of the best.

Now if only I could afford a standard 580 :D

"- Memory Clock: 4020MHz (Effective)"

If that was me, I'd have said - Memory Clock: 4020MHz (Freakin Awesome)

It's a bit like Rolls Royce describing their engine power as "adequate". (Talking of power, "only 244 watts" is a strange use of only).

Come on you guys, for £480 you're gonna have to try harder than that!

3GB Vram isn't a gimmic. With my 3x 30" surround setup even with the 2GB on the 6970's I run out of Vram quite easily. Not everyone plays on tiny little 1080p monitors anymore. ;)

Fantastic looking card. Sadly it is also a 2.5 slot cooler. Lots of thought went into that one. Lets make a GFX card that will be best used in sli for triple screen but make it not fit lots of the motherboards out there. Yes I could use slot 1 and 3 but that then get in the way of other things.

Looks like I will need to wait on a 3gig card with a standard 2 slot cooler.
