Hi there

The current 970 EX OC is a huge success and a firm favourite because of its overclocking strengths and being the card so far to not suffer from any coil whine issues.

The only issue previous was blue PCB and very silver backplate.

So the PCB is now black as is the rear backplate which goes better with the gunmetal cooler.

The new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980/970 is powered by the next generation NVIDIA Maxwell Architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.

Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPU's can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology). Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.

The GTX 980 is the worlds fastest GPU and the GTX 970 offers the most advanced performance in its class. Each delivers 2x the performance of previous-generation card, bringing new gaming experiences to virtual reality, and ultra resolution 4k displays.

Enable the detail of 4k monitors, on a 1080P display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a high resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.

GeForce GTX 980 and 970 cards support tear-free, super-fast NVIDIA G-Sync monitor display technology including 4k. Together, these technologies provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experiences possible.

Looks real nice and quite impressed by the higher clock frequencies too! :D

Arrgh, this is the I've had my eye on, and it's £20 more than the original!

I am disappoint :(

Ah well, I wasn't planning to buy until Novemberish, maybe prices will have settled a bit by then and hopefully coil whine will be less of a problem.

Three reasons for this:-
Black PCB cost more
Re-flashed BIOS with higher clock speeds
Also weakened exchange rate, last buy 1.64, now 1.59

Gibbo, do you prefer this or the msi.

On 970 hard choice, I prefer 980 or 780Ti. On 980 Zotac Extreme, incredible memory clocks, carbon fibre finish and disco lighting. :D

But if I was buying and because I know any kind of overclock is more down to silicon I'd just buy the one I like the looks of most or best price, so either Galax 970 or 970 EX OC or the one I think looks best so OcuK 970 NV cooled edition.

MSI is excellent though and I have no issue recommending it whatsoever and it is still our best selling 970. :)

P.S. To answer your question directly, Galax 970 EX OC due to backplate! :)

This is the card Galax should have released from the start they would probably have sold more. I can see the older cards sitting on the shelf collecting dust now.

They've sold out of the blue and we've only got 110 left and selling 50 per week. Collecting dust they are not! :)

Just joking gibbo I did not think you would have many left but it would have been better if Galax had come out with the higher clocked card at the release of the 970/980 and the black PCB / rear backplate is much better.

Let me just say I've being designing my very own 970, it shall be coming to market soon and my plans are for it to be king of 970's. Watch this space. :)

I bring you 970 NV Edition, only company in world I believe and now I have designed my own overclocked model and is nearly ready. :D

Is the ETA still for tomorrow? Hella desperate for a card :D

Nope! :(

Galaxy had an issue on production line, they will give me a new ETA tomorrow hopefully, gonna be another week or so at least though.

Think changing from blue to black PCB has caused an unforeseen issue so they are resolving it. :)

Gief update! Where is the box from china? Please be sitting in your warehouse, i'm gagging for this card. I want to play CoD!

Yes they are in a our goodsin area, due to be booked onto stock later today or tomorrow. :)
