Galaxy S3 or iPhone 4

What about the one s?

Has a better CPU than them all and better battery life plus it's 4.3" qHD samoled display and feels nice to hold in the hand and not huge, feels smaller than the gs2.

But if storage is an issue for you then it may not be the best idea then :p

Get 10GB for photos, videos, music etc. And over 2GB for apps. You also get 25GB for dropbox.

Only problem I personally found with the one S is that it is lacking in the screen department. It is somewhat of a mid range phone, however it is faster then the One X, amazing build. Just that screen, if it had a 720p screen at 4.3" it would be the dream phone for a lot of poeple.

For the One X and S3 being too big for most, I think once you use one for over 10mins you really see the benefits of having a larger screen. More so with the s3 with all its curves it really does fit nicly in your hand and you somewhat forget that your holding a 4.8" phone.

+1 After the S3 the HTC One S is the most complete android phone you can own. If you can live with the lack of storage and qHD SAMOLED screen I would highly recommend it.

The reason the iP4S doesn't feel very special is because compared to the iP4, it's just an internal spec bump. You get a faster CPU, GPU, and better camera, but these are all things that were hardly lacking on the iP4 so it's only going to appeal to those who were looking for an upgrade in those departments.

I mean at the end of the day, if the SGS1 to the SGS2 was just the same case, screen size and resolution, with simply an extra CPU core, a slightly better GPU, and an extra 3MP on the camera, I suspect there would be both impressed and disappointed people.

The screen is very good though still, at first I thought it was going to be pretty poor and that it wouldn't be as sharp as the GS 2 due to the pentile matrix but was very surprised and pleased with it when I seen it for myself. Obviously it is nowhere as sharp as the X/GS 3 screen though.

It is sharper, better colours IMO (not as vibrant as the GS 2) and you get more screen real estate than the GS 2, which suits the 4.3" perfectly I think.

I honestly don't consider it to be a mid range phone at all, I consider it to be up there with both the X and GS 3, sure it doesn't have a 720P display and has limited storage but the amazing battery life along with the build/design quality, 2nd best audio on a mobile (only the GS 3 beats it in this area and only by a very small amount) along with the performance (the S4 is better than the quad in the GS 3 as well) bring it to the top end category as well.

The only areas where the X is better is:

- NFC
- more internal storage
- better screen

The camera side of things is more or less the same here.

GS 3:

- 1080P video recording quality
- much better storage
- better screen
- NFC
- better battery life if you get an extended battery

However, your wishes may be answered, as it appears that HTC may be swapping the s4 for the s3 and upping the screen res. to 720P but at the cost of battery life and performance :p

Yeah the big screens are great for browsing, games and video! I don't mind the size too much but they are uncomfortable to use with one hand especially when texting.

The GS 3 is great for that, it is slightly bigger than the X but to me it felt smaller and more comfortable to hold in one hand than the X.

Using the One S personally apart form the screen I liked it more then then One X, it is also cheaper for its favour. It is just annoying if the One X had the S4 it would be a much better phone, the american versions was faster, better battery life so it does seem a bit gay xD. i guess there both the headline HTC phones aimmed at 2 different screen sizes, but I would happily pay a bit more for a 720p screen.

Also the S3 was really amazing how comfy it feels in your hand, I thought that at 4,8" it would be crazy but when I tired it I felt it was a nice size. Using it with 1 hand was a bit tricky at best though but for most of things you do in 1 hand (Phone calls, and texting) it wouldnt be so bad.

Indeed! It was stupid of HTC to not have used the S4 in the X, it would have been much better.

If they also had a SD card slot along with a slightly bigger battery it would have been the pretty much perfect phone in my eyes, like wise for the S and a 720P screen as well as the SD card slot.

Personally I prefer the SAMOLED 720P screen on the GS 3 though for the more vibrant colours and pitch blacks :p

Yeah I am really impressed with the job Samsung have done as well, regarding the "feel" of the GS 3 considering the size.
