Gamer RIP from the MOHAA-SH days

I was Sh@rk, cousin of Nix. Wish I'd kept in contact with some of the guys :(

Most of the DD guys are still playing sh....under the clan name of UNA....Soulhunter, M4giC, Rince, Billy joe, Defacto, Viva La Dan, Celeborn and Wyatt are still playing.....You probably know most of these guys...they have a website if you want to drop on and see who is there. ;)

Very sad news about Winter he was a popular member within NERUK and EBA. For those of you that knew him, and I do recognise many of you, im sure you enjoyedd playing both against and with Winter and quite possibly looked forward to one of his trademarked outbursts :-)

Regardless of whether you knew Winter or not, i'm sure that you'll agree that the world is lessened at his passing and join me in passing our sympathies to his family and close friends.

Horrible way to go :(

I know what you mean about in the moment online friendships. Wish I'd still kept in touch with some folks.

I was in [3CDO] clan on Spearhead.

Probably my favourite multiplayer game of all time.

I remember that clan! I was only 10 when it was released, and I started playing online on 56k. Crazy to think it was only 10 years ago, how online gaming has grown so much in 10 years (aswell as Quake, Doom which started the most of it).

RIP to OP's friend. It was only the other day that I was trying to retrace some of the people I was in a clan in CoD, that was the last clan I've been in as I lost interest, I think one (or more) of the players are on here.

RIP

I hope he isnt the winter i know that played COD 1 also.
Would have been [RSR]Winter
or ABC Winter and mostly played rifles? anyone know?

Spearhead and MOHAA were my true gaming days (back when MoH outshone the CoD franchise by a country mile). I literally busted it out a few weeks ago on an old XP machine and was surprised to still see some of the old common named servers kicking around. Had many a good time on there.

RIP to your friend

Sorry to bump an old thread, I actually found it from Googling "eba clan mohaa"

I was in NER-JNR, then one of the few than moved to NER-UK, then subsequently EBA-UK. Played many games with Winters (no matches) but only a little time in comms with him. Incredibly sad to hear about his passing

Also, hi Jinx!

Was thinking when I originally read this thread, pretty sure he was a regular on one of the COD or DOD servers I used to play on if he played as Cpt.Winters.

Didn't know him but RIP all the same.

Hiya colossuss, long time no see. ;)

RIP.

On a side note, that is VERY scarey, feeling a bit sick? 2 months later you kicked the bucket. Cancer is a cruel thing :(

Ain't that the truth.
Though for some it can take a long time indeed - my uncle took 17 years before his lymphoma finally did him in... a small miracle according to all of his doctors.

It strikes me as strange how online friendships evolve and fade out when groups of gamers move on and communities disperse to other pass-times; somehow those friendships always seem to be 'in the now' moment even over a period of years.
True dat. I had a good mate on Wireplay (when it was a closed service run by BT) and we lost touch after Freeserve came in. Years later, I ran into him playing Ultima Online and it was just like old times for several months. He then stopped logging into ICQ and I never heard from him again.

It's actually a bit depressing to think about how easily online friendships dissolve.
