Games you're playing, and games...

I've recently started playing Astro Bot on the PS5 and it's as enjoyable as I expected it to be, the demo playroom thing was fantastic when I first got my PS5 so this had to be good. I just wish it had PSVR 2 support in a similar vain to the PS4 VR title.
I can see me more than likely trying to platinum this

Arc Raiders is very different to COD, BF or any other traditional FPS - certainly not a gank fest. It's not a "twitchy FPS" and the combat is relatively slow in my opinion so you don't need to have lightening fast reactions although being quicker does help. As noted above, you can avoid 90% of fights if you want but there will always be opportunists who will shoot you in the head the minute your back is turned. For reference, I've been playing on PS5 and I've gone into plenty of raids as a solo and ended up teaming up with people. I've also been in a few scraps - lost a few and won a few. Going into each raid, not knowing what could happen is exciting and, if you do loose a fight and you die, it's not as painful as it can be in other extraction games like Tarkov for example.

Like you, I was also in a gaming rut until recently. This has changed that. It's a great game though and well worth a go.
I’ve just bought it. Looks like something I will enjoy so I’ve pulled the trigger. You’ve convinced me with this post so thanks!

Ha, likely me too - good post. Will probably get it installed for the weekend as soon as I've finished NG 4. :D

Arma still getting the bulk of my MP time at the moment - though the latest update has really spun things on their head; kind of turned it into a second job.... so hoping they add the old way of play back in.

Bit of BF6 MP every now and then - still enjoyable, but the rollout of 'season 1' has kind of turned it into some joke clone of COD, which I'm pretty sure they said they wouldn't do.... but meh, I won't spend a penny in game, and if the daft skins etc start to grate, I'll just flog it.

Enjoying Stray - my 4 year old was in tears when the cat falls at the start though.

Purchased Grey hill Incident, as I had a fiver from the Rewards thing, and I quite liked the look of this on some YT playthroughs - not started it yet though.

Also picked up Arc Raiders - deffo seems to be a game that will benefit from playing with friends, so I'll be on with some lads from Arma, as solo seems like quite a risk fest so far! But I've done a few ranks in it so far.

Other than the above - I'm trying to find the Indiana Jones game (PS5) for a reasonable price, eBay will often sell for near digital price, and Amazon doesn't seem to stock it any more - only thing they seem to have is a special edition one for 100 quid lols

Few rounds of Arc Raiders tonight and yeah, brilliant so far. Just creeping around looting and trying to stay out of trouble. Interesting interactions when you see someone and they see you. Only played it solo so far but got myself out of there full of loot without issue. People are so noisy and have absolutely no idea that I am sat there watching all of it! Cool game at a nice price for a change.

Arc raiders needs its own thread. Love it so far.

I keep hearing good things about Arc Raiders, but not sure if it is my type of game, not really into multiplayer games but i am intrigued! Might go for The Outer Worlds 2 next, loved the first one, hoping it's even better..

My son is playing ToW2 and he was a fan of the first. Says it’s much improved. That’ll be my next SP game after the new Borderlands. Arc Raiders isn’t really my kind of thing either but the PVP/PVE nature of it is a lot of fun.

Paid 70 quid (technically 60 in real money via PSN credit) for the special edition of Indiana Jones - gotta say, it looks chuffing great, and really nails the feel of the films

Been playing The Outer Worlds 2, loved the first one but I don't know, something about this one isn't drawing me in as much as the first, enjoyed the first few hours..but it is feeling a little bland, can't put my finger on it. It's not a bad game, but it is not a great game, basically feels like Outer Worlds but with a lick of paint, I suppose it doesn't help playing this after Ghost of Yotéi!

Just got kirby air riders on switch 2...man its a fun game, better than mario kart world for me, yes they are different types of racer, but this is just sooooo much fun.

Bit bored with gaming at the mo, but you just reminded me I left this unfinished. So will fire this up for some fun.

Didn’t realise that Farcry 4 got a 60fps update earlier this year. It’s 1080p but feels nice now. One of my favourite FC games which I couldn’t play again because of the frame rate.

34 hours into Indy so far - love it! It's a proper 10/10 game for me, only issues have been the AI being blind as a bat at times, but other than that, they've proper nailed the feel of the films (not the last 2 though, they're pants!)
