Can anyone recommend a gaming headset that doesn't pinch the **** out of my ears so bad it hurts to wear them for more than a half hour or so?

I have an old set of plantronics gamecom 780 - the sound and the mic are great as far as my fps gaming goes. But they just hurt the hell out of my ears after a while.
Must be USB connection to work with my laptop.

After my quick post in the small hours, I've had some further thoughts:

Price?
Up to £100 ~ (more for the right pair)

Features?
Fixed mic boom (not detachable).

USB cable preferable. Laptop does have 3.5mm x2 for mic and headphones.

Not interested in fluffy bags to carry about in/swappable ear pads etc.

Dolby 7.1 also a consideration.

W10 compatible (I had to do some messing about with my gamecoms to get them to work in W10) plug and play.

Looking for something comfortable that will last. I guess with comfort inn mind - large ear pads.

Question: how much are you paying for brand names over quality with some of these products?

I have the Planteonics set as well and they're painful after more than half an hour. I just ordered the Sennheiser 300's and they actually go round my ears rather than on them and are consequently far more comfortable. Mic seems good, but has 2x 3.5mm jacks. Two year warranty too.
