Winning the war of independence in Colonization.
The most addictive game I have ever played, used to stay up alnight and play this game.

I hear that :)

also playing FreeSpace 2 and the ending on that... WOW I could never forget that :)

The first time I completed Sonic 2 on the Gamegear.
Finally finishing the Benediction quest after a group from my guild brought some alliance up to wipe me about 5 times and neither would leave.

numerous moments from toonstruck

The sadest thing about that is I don't think we'll get to relive them :(

edit:

There's probably about 30 moments I could pick from the entire Broken Sword series. There are lots of moments in Dark Messiah too.

Stepping out of the tutorial dungeon in Oblivion, and seeing the landscape for the first time.

Similar moment for me was playing Far Cry... and seeing that lovely beach!

That evil little girl in FEAR!!!!

The first Cyberdemon in Doom.

The entrance of Diablo in Diablo2 ("Not even death can save you from me!")

The first alien in the original AvP: realising just how fast they were.

And I agree about Oblivion above.

Finally getting MLS in SWG (swg'rs will know what I mean)

Killing my first BH, and then 100's more, but the first time I wont forget.

/mourn

Like above, completing my epic hunter quest aaaaaaaaaaaaagggggesss ago (after having the BS demon interupted with like 5 times  )

Getting our servers first Nefarian kill not long after BWL opened.

Cant think of much more.

Lol yea swg memories lol, mine thought has to be getting my first pet :D was awesome lol but i will always remember after a year of playing and making that uber armour/looting ackley bones and then knowing 'I Own' rofl

Yea Just Zelda in general was great gaming memories, and also Red Alert 1, its what started me on pc games :o

ooh, can't i think of them all....

CoD - the russian bit in where you come off the boat and get divebombed - i've got no gun!

Planetside - defending a red alert base in for over an hour, fighting them out from the spawns, the base, keeping the gen up over and over again, brilliant

Planetside - the first time i sneaked into a busy base as a cloaker, past all the soldiers who don't know you're there

Company of Heroes - the first level, i wanted to keep all my guys alive

HL2 - the modified mavity gun :D

Doom - the shotgun

im sure i'll think of more..

nin9a

Most of the classics have been mentioned already

OOT still fills me with awe
both hl and deus ex got a bit pants towards the end but the majority of the game was godlike

i also have the usual memories of killing off an entire team in cs and rvs

i still remember my first kill in cs... dust, saw a guy looking the wrong way in the tunnel.. offloaded on him with my pistol... teamkill :D

when i was first offered a place in a clan, felt so proud

Zelda OoT - Becoming an adult/First stepping out into Hyrule field/Pretty much all of it.

Goldeneye - All of it really.

Best gaming days ever.

My first mid air spinfusor, finally happened mere inches from my foe landing the flag in his base.
Got the flag, saved the day, died the next second to a mortar :D

The time me and a colleague beat Time Crisis 2 (cost us ~20quid though :p).

My Benediction quest, breezed it first time - major "pro" feeling.

Beating my uncle at Warcraft 2... only took a year or so of practice ;)

when i completed mgs2 i just wanted so much more !!!!
or when i completed ra2 on allies and the end scene w00t

EDIT: the click of the clip of the m8 or m1 on MoH or COD

Alien VS Predator(Atari Jaguar) - 3 games in 1! You can be a Predator! You can be an Alien! I spent months on this one

Ooh Ooh Ooh!

The frag grenades in AvP1 on the PC. I've never seen a grenade of any sort on any game be as cool or terrifyingly vicious as that since. Its the needles of shrapnel quietly cooling from white to red to black on every wall that did it for me.

The first time I bumped into the Crysalids in Xcom: Enemy unknown. Scared the carp out of me!

Hitting the pilot of a full transport chopper from distance in BF2 with a bullet from my sniper rifle without the scope. I wasn't even aiming at the chopper and had accidently fired. Complete fluke that netted me a satisfying amount of kills.

The first time I discovered the "no clipping" cheat in doom. "I can walk through WALLS!!!!!!!!!" Or rampaging in Doom 2 with the super shotgun.

Four player split screen deathmatch/ co-op on Hired Guns on my old Amiga.

Goldeneye!

The joys of running around with the mind control device in the original Syndicate. I always had that god awful "My Gang" song in my head by Gary Glitter as I ran around with hundreds of armed followers destroying any agent that I couldn't control or who had the audacity to shoot at me and my army of followers.

Few mentioned already.
Meeting a midwife in System Shock 2 for the 1st time, I'll never forget that

Hell yeah, the samples were awesome too. "I'm going to rip your spine out" :)

Like that other guy, playing Sonic The Hedgehog for the first time on the Megadrive - it was magic. I got the Megadrive for Christmas as a nice surprise as I was expecting a Master System. I was just stunned by the graphics, the music, everything.

That part in FF7 where the bird gets nailed by Sephiroth.

Doom III, regardless of it's faults, I'll always remember the first scene in the control room when everything goes pear shaped and you see the zombie snap that guy's neck on the screen then walk up to the camera. It was done pretty well.

Quake II when you meet the railgun dude for the first time... I forget his name.

The original Doom when the lights go out in that room and the imps appear.

not really a great 'moment' in gaming, rather me witnessing an Amiga running a game for the first time.

So, seeing Shadow of the Beast II load up on a mates Amiga when I was at school. At the time it seemed legendary.

lighting, atmosphere and generally everything on unreal on my mates computer. Way ahead of its time

(more shots in screenshots thread)

ah the memories.

-playing MOHAA for the first time and going through the omaha beach misson (just like in saving private ryan) man that was awsome in 5.1

-quitting wow. now that was funny. the guild i was in didnt want me to go and decided (only being lvl 40) to sell all my stuff off and then give the money to the guild bank then riding all around ironforge in just me skivies.

-playing CSS. now that was a moment. a full server 11v11. my team had completly died and i was the only one left against 10 of the enemy (thank god it wasnt 11) i had and mp5 and i was able to take out 9 of them with the mp5 but ran out of ammo so i was using a usp and nailed the last guy in the head. next spawn a votekick started to kick me off the server :o it never passed lol but everyne started using mp5's coz they thaught they could be just like me :D but they couldnt lol.

-playing BF2 with mates. a sniper picks off my mate, i revive him, he gets shot, i revive him........ this goes on for ages and ages till the sniper got shot by onther team member hehe. the good old days.

-playing Oot on the N64. i loved the bit when you go in time for the first time and your older. that was cool.

- KOTOR Twist
- Getting all Emeralds on Sonic 2
- Unlocking my first SWG Jedi (Hearing that sweet sweet music :D)
- First few days i played Counter-Strike
- Getting all 151 Pokemon on Pokemon Red (must have put 100s of hours into it)
