Gaming upgrade - Key parts only

Highly doubt you will be bothered by this but that ''1 x OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £17.99'' sounds like an absolute rocket when it takes off, easily louder then all 7 of my fans on full in my £920 Gaming build.

Other than that the most recent Spec looks great :)

Thanks, any branded ones you would recommend?

Yeah this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-046-OT&tool=3

Its rather quiet according to customer reviews across a few sites!

I do wish I had gone for it. But I use Steam for games and the PC is sat next to a BluRay player so it hasent been used for movie playback.

Saying that I only built it on monday evening, attempting to get a stable overclock of 4.7ghz tonight :) :)

I have next week off work so more time for testing and reviewing ;)

The difference between a 3570K and a 2500K is minimal. 2500K's tend to get higher clock speeds than 3570K's, however the 3570K will bring with it PCI-E 3.0 functionality amongst a few other small bits and pieces like slightly less power consumption.

Out of curiosity, what is the spec you are upgrading from?

I've had my eye on the 3570K for a while but thanks for the info.

My current build is:
CPU: E6600
GPU: Old 7600. My 8800GTS broke about 6 months and since my pc gaming was mainly Football Manager it wasn't a big deal.
Ram: Corsair 2gb - not sure what speed
Case: Antec 900

So it'll be quite an improvement hopefully. Looking forward to some Battlefield 3 and various other pc games.

Keyboard, mouse and HDD upgrade to come in the next month or so.

Ok everything has been ordered.

I threw in some Arctic Silver, the Sony DVD drive, battlefield 3 and a ocuk mug of course.

Thanks for your help. I'll post some benchmark scores when everything is up and running. If my PSU holds up to the job!

All up and running here after a 2 and a half hour build. Good temps of 23 Degrees for the GPU and 27 degrees for the CPU.

Installing Battlefield 3, it'll be interesting to see how it runs. Thanks again for all your help.
