Gareth Thomas reveals that he is gay

Good on him for having the guts to come out and admit it. I personally couldn't give a toss about his sexuality, and I'll bet anything he's not the only gay man in rugby. He's a top quality player and that's all that really matters.
 
I wouldn't have imagined him being gay in a million years but that doesn't detract from the wonderful playing career he's had. He lost my support though after that crazed outburst on Scrum V.
 
It's good to see sportsman coming out of the closet.

I mean there are very few openly gay footballers, there was Justin Fashanu who commit suicide, and obviously Cashely Cole is out, but other than that there are very few.

Well Done Gareth Thomas.

I really don't see how this is news worthy though, this has been public knowledge since he started playing.. :confused:

I'll get the title changed..

I guess the main reason it's in the news is that he's officially announced it and doesn't have to 'worry' about it anymore, I highly doubt there'll be any stigma attached to it

He's a great player and whilst it doesn't detract from that, I still find it a bit odd I'm afraid (not to a homophobic level, just slightly wrong) - I guess i'm just a Neanderthal. I just hope this doesn't bring out lots of poofs in rugby!
