in a few, rare cases maybe....

generally speaking it is a personality disorder and therefore untreatable. I'd say it's extremely risky to count on pedophiles not acting on their urges.

I'd rather they be locked away for good.

They had an interview on Sky with a bloke who knew Glitter well and was speaking after his first arrest when he took his laptop to be repaired with child porn on it.

He said he was a fine chap, etc. and it was out of character etc. and must be a mistake etc.

Unfortunately the bloke being interviewed was Jimmy Savile.
