Hiya

My gas isn't working, and I have tried to call the gas people....4-6hours for an engineer!

I have a 4 year old who needs his dinner!

my gas went off the other week , they treated it as an emergency as no pressure indicates bust pipe somewhere = explosion , they were around in 30mins.
 
I was thinking of that, but the problem is my meter says - Battery FAIL.

So I don't see that it could be linked

4-6 Hours same day? I'd say that's pretty quick!

Surely you have a microwave and can cook something quick?

I do have a microwave, but I was half way thru cooking my roast Beef dinner!

All gone to waste (maybe) never tried to start cooking something, after it's stopped half way thru for 4hours!

Reckon it will be ok?
 
Keep a note of who you spoke with and when. They have standards to keep and if they don't, you may be due compensation under the Guaranteed Standards (only £20, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick). Off the top of my head, I can't recall if battery failures fall under the four hours on weekends rule or not (and I'm not going to check the regs on a Sunday :)), but it's worth writing down the times.
