I am meant to be picking my g/f up from Gatwick tomorrow. Anyone know if you can drive to the collection point yet as I know they had stopped all cars after Glasgow attacks?

Should be fine driving to be the pick up point just don't drive AT the pick up point.

I laughed at that comment :p.

Seriously though, have you checked the BAA Gatwick site? Might be some information on there.

There should be some way to pick people up, I work at Glasgow airport and even we have a place to pick up/drop people off just now.

At most airports you will not be able to drive into the pick up area if its near the main enterance.

The closest you will be able to get will in most cases be the Short stay carpark. Most of these allow you to go in for 15min without paying so it shouldnt be a problem :)

Cheers all

I work just outside the airport. I dropped my girlfriend off last monday morning and they have closed the upper drop off point. Aside from that the armed police are out in force and checking cars. I believe its single lane in and restricted. You'll have to wait longer to get a spot.

My advice is just to do what I did and park for half hour. Its a couple of quid but i'd rather not have the bother of waiting.

In any case, you'll be fine.

Should't be a problem really. My old man picked my Mum from Manchester airport earlier today. The only thing that was a pain apparently was the traffic

come round to my house, let the misses get the gatwick train to 3 bridges, pick her up from there :]

I flew from LHR on wednesday. only T1 has the block in place - even the longterm parking busses had to go to T2 instead.
