Gave up waiting - Asus 7950 DCUII ordered :)

C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner CFG FILE.

UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0 < change to 1 to override clock limits.

Strange I checked this a few days ago and although mine is set at 0 my maximum limit is 1200 anyway???

Or perhaps it is specific to AB beta 12

when you start to miss holidays to pay for computer components, you need to see a doctor

I have been looking at holidays, and because it's easter, they are all expensive.

Plus I just recently spent a lot of money on my tickets to South Africa for xmas at end of year, and have another week off in August.

It's not like this is something I would do often :)

Man I got the game on getting these things to not BSOD with crossfire enabled, even on desktop - shoulda known I would have problems :D

So the second 7950 fitted in ok? Have you installed the 12.1a drivers and latest CAP? Dont install 12.2 they meant to be rubbish

Yeah it fit :D

Took some pics which will get up tomorrow.

Didn't try 12.1a.

Tried the 12.2 pre-cert and the latest ones that were linked to in one of the other threads.

Might give the 12.1a a try.

Currently on the other more recent ones form other thread, and have at least been able to get things running.

When running each card individually, both seem to go to 1050 on stock volts easily, but with both in crossfire, and not able to get up to 1000 on each - currently 975.

Just going to give BF3 a go at ultra at 2560x1440

good! i hate hearing when people turn down stuff like that for computer hardware, and hear it too often for my liking!

How did BF3 play mate?

Been having so many problems getting these running nicely in crossfire that haven't had more than a couple of minutes in BF3.

Yeah, it's a first and last for me.

Besides, now that got small gas leak (that we have had for years) fixed, am keen to see if I feel better when I stay at home than normally do :)

I kinda figured I would have some issues - though perhaps not quite this many :D

Stupid AMD have not included a .dll file in some of the recent driver releases - atipdlxx.dll

This is what has been causing most of my crossfire issues.

Seems to be running a hell of a lot better since putting that in "SysWow64" folder.

Only issue am investigating now is that when running heaven, 2nd card might stop being used some time into the program running.

Clocked at 1050 in crossfire, top card gets up to 80C, but doesn't get as noisy as my 6950 Toxic did :)

I get that with my CF 5850s, only getting 50 - 70% GPU usage on both cards in BF3, buts its find in HEaven and other games???

Not quite the same - it just stop using 2nd card entirely, but the primary card keeps running happily. Would have thought it would crash if this happened, but just carries on.

Well, as mentioned above they run great on stock volts (1.093V) at 1050/1500, though temps on top card do get up to 80.

Tried going the other way too and can run at stock clocks (900/1250) under-volted to 0.993V for now.

And for the settings I use for BF3, didn't see it drop below 60 in the last round I played.

Must say, I think these cards are awesome :D

Once you fix any issues :)

Just don't know whether I am going to OC or under-volt :)

eyetrip!!!

Can you do me a favour and measure the length of the card from the start of the PCB to the end of the fan casing (i.e. the full length minus the metal bracket bit)?

Just thing to see if I can squeeze this baby in!

EDIT: just found it on youtube. 11 and half inches

Glad you found it - or would have had to remove them again :D

Anyway, pic for those who wanted see what 2 monster Asus 7950 DCU II looked like in crossfire in normal case :)
