Gave up waiting - Asus 7950 DCUII ordered :)

Any benchmarks people would like to see?

Oh, and how do I get heaven to benchmark the gpu - i can run it on a loop, but dont seee an option for benching the gpu's...

This may be a stupid question, but...

would I be able to attach one of these to the back of my cards for support and aesthetics?

Or would they only be able to screw on to the front block for them?

Oh, and out of curiosity, I am going to remove the shroud and fans from the top card to see what sort of temps I get, as I have a 140mm fan blowing directly over it. It may make no diff, but I get the feeling it would allow for a hell of a lot more air flow to the top card.

VRM temps may be an issue though.

Not that I think the top card gets TOO hot with them clocked at 1050, but hell, they are new toys and I want to play with all my options :D

Forget about my question regarding brackets. doubt it would work.

Tried removing the shroud and just having the case side fan blowing over the card but it was not sufficient to cool it.

So I removed the heatsinks from both, applied some MX2, stuck em back together using some small washer things on back of card when screwing it back on, as while cooler didn't look loose, it didn't feel 100% tight and secure.

Currently sitting at 1066, with 1.1V. Will need to do more stability testing, but seems good.

Playing BF3 after reseating cards, temps on top card have not gone over 71 and temps on bottom card not gone over 62 at the above settings.

Before at 1050 at 1.093V I was easily getting to 80C on top card.

got it last night, and disapointed. Don't know why, maybe i was expecting better performance and having same or 5% less than 580 didnt feel great.

Already filled in a return for it, but have till monday.
Problem with it is: 3 fins were bent out of the box. Box which holds manual and cd also bent almost in two. BSOD if AOD is intalled, cant even login to windows, unless safe mode and disable start up of aod. Doesnt come back from sleep if using parted magic to sec erase ssd.

Nevermind all that. I am still willing to give it one last shot. Can someone tell me how do i OC using asus utility? I've changed to 950/5100 but it doesnt actually change. Can someone suggest stable oc settings?

As far as Asus GPU tweak goes, first go into setting and enable the voltage control.

Then, when in tuning section, slide the core value to right and it should up voltage for you automatically.

I find MSI Afterburner a bit easier to use, plus it has in-game monitoring.

What's AOD?

Also, when you say bent pins, you mean the "blades" of the heat sink? It could possibly just be where the screws attach the shroud to the heat sink.

And yeah, with both of mine, the boxes containing the CD's were bent - not sure how they get that right :D

Edit: Oh yeah, am back to under volting at moment using afterburner, so back at 900/1250 at 0.993V.

Temps on top card in low 60's

Just done few benches, hit 1803 on official unigine thread. which is not bad at all. 70c max

amd overdrive - AOD which should work instead of BSOD whole system
top of heatsink them alluminium heat spreaders, how they manage to **** UP brand new product is beyond me, and ****es me off so much

I was going to order this card as it's available for £316.

However, from reading various forums and news sites it seems its not the best card to go for, cooler too big and sometimes not seated correctly, higher temps than I'd expect as well. Not to mention the BSoD people like the above poster are getting.

Its almost as if asus are trying to clear these out quick so they can bring out a new, more refined model.
