Has anyone dyed their hair white? When I say white I don't mean really light blonde, I mean pure white with no hue at all.

If so, what does it involve? From the research I have done so far it appears to be quite difficult to do and bad for your hair if not done properly. I'm assuming a professional salon is the best route to take - how much would one expect to pay?

So yeah, if you've been through this fill me in on the details.

Ta :)

Don't do it unless your 100% sure!
I was very drunk (I have James May-like hair if I leave it dry and look normally) and somebody put white streaks in my hair (I was at a hair dresser-friends' party) and now guess where my hair always seems to get dread-locks every morning.. My hair conditioner spending has tripled trying to make it not tangle so much.

It's hard and it ruins your hair, if done incorrectly it will fall out, and there are some people that it just isn't possible as it won't take to the hair.
It also usually takes more than one try, and is gradually done over time else it will go horrible and fall out.

It would be best to go to a reputable salon that knows what they are talking about, not a backstreet kit pack job.

I haven't succeeded, I ended up blond, but my housemate got closer, he bleached 2-3 times iirc and then used some weird purple stuff, the purple stuff did something to counteract the yellow colour of his hair, making it turn pseudo white..

Good luck.
