Gears of war 4 is coming!

I have a feeling this will be a way of more dlc and achievements, ala halo odst. Same multiplayer but a new single player game. They can then add to the mp using this game.

Dang, looks like I'm buying an XBone.

edit - actually it looks like there's a good chance it'll be released on Windows too. Woo.

The first thing that you need to know about the Gears of War 4 beta release for Xbox One is that its release date is just a few short days away.

The Gears of War 4 beta kicks off on April 18th for those that acquire early access. To acquire early access you must log on to Xbox Live and play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 by 11 p.m. PDT, April 11.

Starting April 18th, the companies will send out tokens, in waves, those that qualify for early access. Once you redeem your token, you'll be granted entry into the Gears of War 4 beta.

GOW UE good buy :)

Absolutely cannot wait! It's why I bought an xbone a few days ago. I guess the blonde is Anya if I remember the end of gears 3 correctly. I must have a run through of gears 3 again!

Annoying that I have to have Gears UE, I don't which is a kick in the nuts for how much I have played the others! This better play like Judgement MP and have Gears 3 horde!

Oh well I guess I have to wait until the 24th. Loved the look of everything I saw about this.

I just hope they have fixed all the issues that UE has. The Gnasher and Boomer are really inconsistent and it's just annoying. Hopefully they've brought the fixes from 3 & Judgement and not left it like UE to "keep it playing like the original" as that just ruined UE.

I fear Halo and Gears have both jumped the shark tbh. :(

I was thinking so too. I know I've lost all interest with Halo considering how Halo 5 turned out.

I wrote off the Gears franchise after the original trilogy. To me, it was good and it was finished (thanks to a very conclusive ending in GoW3), the last game possibly being the best (though I preferred some of the Horde maps from the 2nd game). Judgement seemed like a quick cash-in release and it made me very cynical about all Gears games post-GoW3.

GoW4. I thought to myself... 'but they ended the story in the 3rd game, how could they have a sequel?' And then I saw the trailer... perhaps I spoke too soon.

So for those who aren't quite aware of the supposed plot, GoW4 is set a good while into the future after the end of GoW3. It looks like Marcus Fenix had a son (the trailer makes it look like Anya was his wife) and said son grows up and becomes the main protagonist in GoW4. I couldn't quite tell what the enemies were from the trailer, but considering the fact that we've seen very little of them, I think they are something new and something not the Locust (especially considering how GoW3 ended). I will be a bit sad that we won't get to find out who Marcus' mother was and the story behind the Locust Queen, but a full on faithful sequel has me considering buying either an XB1 or an SSD to install Win10 on in the likely chance that this game will come to PC too.

I just hope it's good. I'll wait till it releases to good reviews before buying it. Hopefully they keep the awesome local-multiplayer of the previous games. Gears was one of those awesome split-screenable games in the XB360 days.

Played a few game last night:
TDM is utter crap just like in previous Gears' games. Dodgeball is actually pretty good fun.
There needs to be some feedback when you hit people with your bullets as you don't know if you're connecting or not.
The visuals are really quite poor. Not sure if this is just because it's the beta.
