GeCube ATI Radeon X1950 Pro FZ SuperCooled TURBO SILENT TEC/Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-003-GC)

will this work with my 370watt psu as in does it need to be hard wires to the psu?

also i have a 939 dual sata 2 asrock mobo will it fit in the pci-e slot as in will there be enough room as i see this case is very fat

thanks

Does it need to be hard wired to the psu: YES.

Will there be enough room for it to fit in my case: Yes. All X1 series should have no probs fitting into a CoolerMaster Ammo.

Will this work with my 370 Watt PSU: Don't know? Post the specs of your PSU, paticulary how many amps are on the 12v rail.

ATI/AMD'S shop page recommend a 450 watt PSU with 30 Amps on 12 volt rail for a X1950 256MB pro, though I feel they've over exagerated a little bit, probably just cut and pasted the recommended specs of a 1900xtx. That been said, I reckon a new PSU may still be in order though.

hey m8 thanks for your reply!!!!!

im more in the way of will it fit on the motherboard as there is a heatsink next to the pci-e slot. can anyone answer this or should i look for a different card????

my psu is this one here

my psu

please advise guys thanks

:o :(

can no one help???

i aint a clue what amps are maybe someone else can help????

ive seen a post with a 380w psu and ppl saying go for the x1950 pro so wondered if it was good for my pc also as im looking for a tight budget to upgrade for a yr or so then upgrade everything at once :D

plz guys and thats for your help

Your PSU (324W +12V) should easily be enough for an X1950Pro, it has almost as much juice on the 12V as my Akasa 460W (348W +12V) and I am running an overclocked X1900XT.

It's my experience that the X1900XT uses between 300W and 320W, so the X1950Pro will be fine as it also draws 60W+ less than the X1900XT thanks to the 80nm manufacturing process.

will the x1950pro fit on my motherboard without hitting anything???
I *think* its safe to say that it will fit without a problem mate, though to be 100% sure I'd go for the Sapphire version on this week only, and save £60 in the process. If the stock cooler doesn't do it for you - you can always fit a 3rd party like a Zalman VF900-CU or Accelero X2 and still save £30 compaired to the gecube.

GL.

its all well and good saying that but the gecube is 512mb ram and the saphire is 256mb ram

maybe thats where the other £30 would have gone m8

im looking at the specs of both them cards and all i can see is that the saphire has a better speed that the gecude even tho its only 256mb??

can anyone explain please thanks
