Geforce 6600gt or 6800 LE or 6800 XT?

Does it have to be one of these cards? If it does the 6600gt is about the fastest at stock but the 6800le will beat it if you can unlock its pipelines and overclock it. The 6800XT is a decent enough card but not worth the money.

If you can get another card then I'd suggest an X800GTO as offering better value for money and more performance.

Tbh they're all much of a muchness. If the 6600 gt or 6800 le only has 128 mb of ram get the 6800 xt with 256.

Out of those choices, I'd pick the 6600GT. I used to have one, it was a fantastic card.

Like semi-pro waster said, though, I'd definitely choose an X800 GTO instead as it decks a 6600GT with up to 50% extra performance, especially when using antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. It's just much better value for money.

Let value for money be your decider, not brand. Brand loyalty will only make it harder on you and your wallet in the long run.

the xt is the fastest, 256 bit gddr3, as apposed to 256bit gddr on the le, or 128 bit gddr3 on the 6600gt - all have 8 pipes with the same sorta design

the agp 6800xt/le will unlock and clock to an ultra 99% of the time, however the pci-e doesnt afaik
besides the 6800xt/6600gt and le are out of your range if your strict to £80

would advise a x800 gto, that leaves just over £20 for a zalman fs-v7 fatality cooler, looks awsome and is a very good cooler, its also very quiet at <7v

Can a PCI-E 6800 LE be overclocked?

Yes it can be overclocked but not unlocked, I wasn't sure if the PCI-E version could or couldn't but that has been confirmed as a no-go :)

The cards are pretty similar really but like I said before the X800GTO is better than any of them, another possible option is to go secondhand if you really can't stand ATI as you may be able to fine a 6800standard or 6800gt within your price range.

Semi-pro waster is on the ball today, lol. Second-hand might indeed be ideal for you, considering your budget. :) I'm going to be flogging my GTO² flashed to 16 pipelines for around £85, so you should find a 6800GT or even a 6800 Ultra easily for less.

Is a XFX Geforce 6800XTreme Edition 256mb DDR3 Dual DVI TVO PCI-E any good? I'm thinking about spending more and buying it for £94.

Please reply asap, I'm about to order within the next hour! :D

I mostly play the sims 2 and ms flight sim 2004.

It is an ok card, it only has 8 pixel pipelines which can't be unlocked as far as I know but has more Ram(GDDR3, the good stuff) than the 6600gt and is clocked the same as a 6800gt.

If you are determined not to go ATI then you might as well get this as it is about the best in your budget :)

Been looking at some benchmarks since I don't know anything about the 6800XT, only the 6600GT and 6800LE and vanilla 6800 from experience, and it looks like it's generally a few fps better than the 6600GT in most games (Quake IV, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, etc.) so you might as well just grab it if you're dead-set on an Nvidia card since you'll benefit from the factory OC too.
